Kiara Taveras, LICSW, is a warm, compassionate, and dedicated bilingual therapist who  provides individual and couples therapy to clients in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. As  a Hispanic therapist who speaks both English and Spanish, Kiara is passionate about  creating a therapeutic space where clients feel welcomed, respected, understood, and  comfortable showing up exactly as they are. She offers therapy in both languages so that  clients can communicate in the way that feels most natural and meaningful to them.

Kiara’s approach to therapy is shaped by a diverse career in social work and a genuine  desire to help people feel supported through life’s challenges. Her professional journey  began within the criminal justice system, where she helped formerly incarcerated  individuals develop employment skills and provided counseling to men serving life  sentences. She later facilitated emotional support groups for adolescent girls in residential  care, served as a bilingual program coordinator with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and  worked as a family intervention specialist. These experiences, along with her years in  leadership and supervisory roles within mental health agencies, have given Kiara a deep understanding of the many circumstances that can shape a person’s emotional well-being.

Today, Kiara works with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, complex cultural issues, grief and loss, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and interpersonal conflict. She  believes that therapy is not about having all the answers—it is about having a supportive  person beside you as you begin to understand yourself, process what you’ve been  through, and discover new ways of moving forward.

Kiara takes a collaborative and compassionate approach, meeting each client where they  are and recognizing that no two people experience life in exactly the same way. She uses  evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy,  thoughtfully adapting these tools to each person’s needs and goals.

Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, struggling with a difficult relationship, carrying  grief, healing from trauma, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, Kiara offers a  judgment-free space to pause, be heard, and begin creating meaningful change. Her hope  is that through therapy, clients can develop greater self-understanding, confidence,  resilience, and a renewed belief in their ability to move forward.
