Kerry Duarte is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and Certified Integrative Mental Health Provider (CIMHP), licensed to provide care in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Maine. Her work is rooted in the belief that therapy should be a place where you feel genuinely seen, respected, and supported—not judged or defined by the challenges you are experiencing.
Kerry works with adults navigating trauma and PTSD, the effects of narcissistic abuse, substance use and recovery, ADHD and executive functioning challenges, self-esteem and self-love, and the emotional complexities that can accompany chronic health conditions and disability. As a bilingual, first-generation American therapist who is fluent in Portuguese, she also welcomes clients who are looking for therapy in both English and Portuguese.
Her personal understanding of living with chronic health challenges has shaped her commitment to creating an inclusive and compassionate environment for people whose physical and emotional experiences are deeply connected. Kerry is also a dedicated LGBTQIA+ ally and strives to make therapy a space where people of all identities, backgrounds, and life experiences can feel safe being fully themselves. She believes that no diagnosis, label, past experience, or circumstance defines the entirety of who you are.
Kerry takes a trauma-informed, holistic approach to therapy that combines evidence based clinical practices with tools that support the whole person. Her approach incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Behavior Activation,Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, existential and psychodynamic approaches as well as solution-focused techniques, along with psychoeducation about the ways trauma can affect the brain, emotions, behaviors, and relationships.
Depending on your needs and preferences, therapy may also incorporate mindfulness, meditation, guided imagery, creative expression, inner-child work, and personally meaningful spiritual practices. Kerry believes healing is not about becoming someone different—it is about reconnecting with yourself, understanding your experiences, developing practical tools, and recognizing the strengths that have carried you this far.
Together, the goal is to help you build greater self-understanding, confidence, resilience, and a stronger sense of ownership over the life you want to create.
